Parivaar means family. Institutional care can protect a child, but it should never become a child's permanent home simply because the systems around them have not resolved their circumstances.

We are a family based in Nashik, Maharashtra, and our work starts right here. Being local means we can show up in person, build real relationships, and stay for the long walk each child needs.

Children are best served by people who know them. Working from Nashik lets us spend time inside Child Care Institutions, sit with caseworkers and caregivers, and follow a child's journey from the first conversation to life in a family.

Alongside local institutions

We support Child Care Institutions (CCIs) and Specialised Adoption Agencies in and around Nashik with training, case documentation, and transition planning.

Within the child protection system

We work with the authorities responsible for children's care and legal status, helping case records, identity documents, and permanency decisions move forward.

With families in our region

We prepare and support adoptive, foster, and kinship families across the Nashik region, before placement and long after a child comes home.

For the long walk

Being local means we can follow a child's case over months and years, not a single visit, and stay close to families after the child comes home.

Helping children, CCI staff, and caregivers understand foster care, kinship care, adoption, reunification, healthy attachment, and the move from institutional to family life.

Trauma and Transition

Trauma-informed training for the adults around a child, because difficult behavior may be communication, and children need relationships, consistency, patience, and safety.

Legal Identity and Permanency

Supporting identity documentation, family tracing, case records, and legal-status resolution, so no child stays in care because paperwork was never finished.

Prepare the Family

Preparing adoptive, foster, and kinship families for the child, not just the child for the family, with education before placement and support long after.

We do not assume adoption is right for every child. The goal is appropriate permanency for each one.

Our Story

Built from years of opening our own home.

Path to Parivaar was founded by Jonathan and Emily Kurapati, a cross-cultural family based in Nashik, Maharashtra. Caring for children who need a family has been at the center of our life together from the very start.

Emily spent fourteen years teaching in the United States and Kenya. In Kenya she fostered babies for two years, and back in the US she provided respite care for struggling single mothers before becoming a licensed foster parent in Hennepin County, Minnesota. She grew up with siblings who were adopted as older children, and knows firsthand what it takes to help a child feel safe and settled.

Jonathan is an Indian citizen who works in technology, supporting nonprofit organizations around the world. For ten years he has also worked alongside vulnerable adults recovering from trauma and from lives marked by crime, most of whom came from unstable homes. That work showed him how much a stable home early in life can change a person's story.

Together we fostered children from difficult circumstances in Minnesota, cared for vulnerable women and children in crisis, and walked alongside many families built through adoption. Our own family has grown through foster care and adoption. Path to Parivaar is how we hope to help many more children in India find a family of their own.
